Geminis are from the 3rd house of the zodiac and represented by the Twins. They are associated with transition from spring to summer, because of this they are considered a mutable sign, and are a mix of yin and yang. Mutable signs are represent by months that join the changing of seasons and signify a dualistic nature that is easily adaptable. As air signs they prize intellect and consider it  the key to all things.

The planet Mercury rules this sign. Mercury is the planet of childhood and youth, therefore Geminis have the graces and faults of the young. Like the God Mercury which rules this planet, Twins are quick thinking, quick witted, and fast on their feet.

Castor & Polydeuces
In an ancient Greek tale the Twins are the egg-born brother Castor & Polydeuces (Roman- Pollux). Zeus had seduced their mother, Leda, in the guise of a swan, the same night that she had lain with her husband, resulting in the birth of the immortal Polydeuces, who possessed great physical strength, and the mortal Castor, who possessed great ingenuity. Upon Castors death, Polydeuces begged Zeus to let him share his immortality with his twin to keep them together, so Zeus transformed them into the constellation Gemini. To the Romans the Twins were Hercules & Apollo, Placed in the sky by Jove, to honor and exemplify their brotherly love. In Christian traditions, they were believed to be Adam & Eve.

Duel-natured Twins
Twins are duel-natured, elusive, complex & contradictory, which enables them to be extremely versatile. They are normally lively, happy, egocentrical, extremely imaginative, and restless. They can be affectionate, courteous, kind and generous to those who are suffering. Geminis are keenly intuitive, have a sometimes brilliant intelligence, and love mental challenges. They are also expressive, extrovert, love to talk, curious, and always searching for information. They are the life of the party, even though they can rationalize forever. They can easily see both side of a situation. Twins are adaptable, dexterous, and can tackle many things at once.

Geminis are considered that jack of all trades, due to their curious nature and extreme intelligence. They have a considerable talent for dialogue and love to argue. They have a tendency to believe they are always right and won’t change their mind until the next time the same argument comes around then they will take a totally different stand and deny earlier opinions. They may know a little bit about many subjects, because they are driven to impress with their opinions they marshal this knowledge skillfully, so they seemed well informed. Twins are talkative, but secretive about their personal affairs. They have the ability to bluff their way out of tight corners.

Twins have a tendency to live on nerves and should be careful not to strain their highly sensitive nervous systems, which can break under pressure. They are flirtatious, multi-faceted, busy, logical, spontaneous, cunning, and not overly emotional. They are physically agile, especially in the hands and are skill magicians and mimics. They love sports and excel at team events.
